Rosmaninho - decor

in Food, Shopping · 30 June, 2016

A Most Charming Café

One of my favorite words in the English language is serendipity: luck that takes the form of finding valuable or pleasant things that are not looked for. It was a serendipitous moment for me when I discovered an adorable cafe in a most unexpected location in the greater Lisbon area. It’s called Rosmaninho Arte & Aromas and I fell for its charms immediately.

Although Miraflores isn’t exactly the prettiest place in the Lisbon area (in fact, it’s very much a business area with some pretty uninspiring buildings). But what a stark contrast it was to enter into this ultra feminine, quirky and charming cafe & restaurant!

In love with the chandelier and the old cabinets

Rosmaninho - cookies
A delectable array of treats

I was enamored by the decor, which had a boho, vintage feel to it; think: old medicine cabinets, lace cloths and whitewashed stools. Aside from serving fresh food, you can purchase cookies, breads, jams, and other treats to take home. I bought some teas as a sort of souvenir, which I felt was fitting, as Rosmaninho is the perfect setting for a ladies’ tea. Aside from food, they also sell candles, clothing and fashion accessories. You can resist either the food or the fashion, but not both.

Rosmaninho - wines
Wine and cheese? Yes, please!

With 4.9 and 4.5 stars on Facebook and TripAdvisor, respectively, it seems I’m not the only one who recognizes what a special find this place is. If you ever find yourself in the Miraflores/Oeiras area, be sure to pop in. Serendipity isn’t always finding a cute cafe; sometimes, it means stumbling across the right blog post in order to make a plan…
