Mini Post on Mini Ice Cream Cones

As summer draws to a close, it’s only natural to try to squeeze as much out of it as possible: weekend breaks to the beach, BBQs with friends, and – of course – ice cream! For those of you making the most of the last weeks of summer sunshine and hot weather in Lisbon, head over to Gelato Davvero.

Not too far from Cais do Sodré station in downtown Lisbon, Gelato Davvero is a great little find for ice cream aficionados. What makes it different to other ice cream places in Lisbon? For starters, it offers mini ice cream cones! Isn’t it annoying when somebody doesn’t believe they’ll eat an entire ice cream on their own and insists on taking some of yours? This way, they can have their own miniature version and leave you to enjoy yours. (When it comes to sweet treats, you have to be strategic!) It would be remiss of me to not mention that the mini cones (pictured further below) come as a normal cone or in a version with a chocolate coating inside. Drooling yet? Keep reading!

Cones at Gelato Davvero

They have a wide selection of flavors, including the more typical strawberry, chocolate, pistachio, and vanilla flavors. But in addition to these, they offer some really unusual and fun flavors such as basil, clementine, bolacha Maria cookie, and ricotta & walnut with honey. So there’s definitely something for everyone!

Another aspect of Gelato Davvero that I really love is that they cater to vegans, which is rare (especially in Portugal). By offering both vegan cones and vegan/vegetarian sorbet flavors, they make sure our vegan friends can choose between a cup or cone.

You might be thinking, “what’s the catch? Price?” You’d be wrong. It’s very affordable, which means you have no excuse to not keep going back day after day until you’ve tried all their delicious flavors. Once you’ve got your ice cream, you can savor it their indoor seating area, or enjoy it in the sun at the quaint square right outside the shop. So if you’re looking to end your summer on a very sweet note, try Gelato Davvero in Lisbon.
