Cruet set from Lusophile

Lusophile: Portuguese Design Delivered to Your Door

It’s always a real pleasure for me meeting people who are passionate about Portugal. So you can imagine my excitement when I came across Lusophile! The owner, a designer by trade, personally selects both established and avant-garde Portuguese brands and places them all under one roof for your convenience. It’s essentially your one-stop-shop for Portuguese goodies – in other words, your Christmas gift shopping this year is going to be a breeze! Dare I say it?: easy, peasy Portuguesy!

If you’ve already clicked on the link above to the Lusophile website, you’ll have seen how beautiful the site is. You’ll also have explored the diversity of products they offer: clothes, home, bath & body, food, and gift sets. There’s something for everyone… specifically for those who appreciate unique design. Lusophile prides itself on offering a distinctly Iberian touch in a world of mass-produced goods, and I truly believe they’ve achieved this in their product offering.

No brand in Lusophile’s catalog is chosen at random: they were individually selected for their ethical production practices, quality of craftsmanship, and attractive design. Many of the brands are small, family-run businesses who focus on using natural materials and traditional techniques. When you buy products from Lusophile, you’re directly contributing to the Portuguese economy and supporting fair trade practices… not to mention, you’re also getting your hands on some pretty special gifts!

I was so excited when my box of Lusophile gifts arrived! I got a beautiful oil and vinegar cruet set made of cork and porcelain. The set comes in two colors and I love their minimalistic, modern design. Cruet sets are very common in Portugal, so I was really happy to introduce this little piece of my home country to my home in the US. Also for the home, I got a diffuser by world-renowned brand, Confiança, from their Aromas da Aldeia (aromas from the village) collection. It makes my home smell like I’m walking through an orchard, instead of the city, where I currently am. My readers know I can’t resist a good Portuguese soap, ever since I converted from liquid to bar soap almost two years ago (and never looked back). Lusophile features a donkey’s milk soap bar available in six different scents. I got honey, and yes, you can really smell the honey… so try not to eat it! And even though donkey’s milk is excellent for skin hydration, I like to lather on some donkey milk body lotion for good measure (can your skin ever be too soft?).

If you like what you see here and on the Lusophile website, get ready to start your online shopping because Lusophile delivers world-wide! And is there anything better than getting a box full of goodies delivered to your door? My readers in the UK are extra lucky, as Lusophile is opening a pop up shop in Boxpark, Shoreditch (London), this September 19th. What a great opportunity to see the products in person before you buy them!
